If you want an end point, I think all you need to do is copy the segment you
want and paste it into a new movie in Quicktime Player, then bring that into
iDVD. I don't think you need to flatten it, that is, make two separate
copies of the redundant data. You can save the copy so that it just points
to whatever is being referenced in the original. I think iDVD will encode
two copies of the overlapping data, however.
