The recall program is ridiculously limited. Just poke around on Apple's on message boards and the stories are so sad: Bad hinges snapping video and data cables, bad video chips, overheating, bad motherboards... All going bad in an average of 12.1 months...you guessed it: Right after warranty expiration. I know I know...plenty of 'books having no problems at all....
