I usually have the client supply their music on a CD and give me pictures that I can scan myself. Sometimes I receive scanned files but I've found people don't always know what their doing. Music always has to be up-sampled to 48.000 from 41.000 ( or mp3 ) for DVD playback. I keep the image resolution high until the final stage when I do my sizing and I run a series of corrections on each image. I only do major restoration around faces but I do clean up the more noticeable scratches and dust specks. I've found boosting the contrast, lowing the brightness, and sometimes bumping up the saturation helps the image stand out better on a TV screen. Of course adjusting Levels is important as well as Sharpening the image. I always edit to the music so getting the clips to flow with the beat takes time and attention. I like to do a lot of compositing with my video sideshows so I'll use motion in my background, as well as, motion with my images. As far as the images that I include on a CD for the client I generally give them printable files, 300 dpi 5 x 7's or 8 x 10's. P.S I'd like to know what others are charging for their DVD slide shows. What resolution/image size are you providing on the client CD" ? Thanks, Ted. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
