Mark, I had a similar problem. Here is what I did to solve the problem. I went to the Energy Saver and unclick "put the display to sleep" and unclick "Put the display to sleep when the computer is inactive" This worked for me. I have been burning DVD at least once a week since I learned this. Hope it works for you Susan Message: 1 Date: Mon, 20 Dec 2004 21:43:10 +0000 From: Mark Walker <mark at scip.org.uk> Subject: [MacDV] problems burning DVD To: "A place to discuss digital video on Macintosh." <macdv at listserver.themacintoshguy.com> Message-ID: <a0611041ebdecf6054e81@[192.168.0.42]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed" Hi all I've had a superdrive in my powerbook for 2 years now but I can't seem to master the art of creating DVDs - I wonder if anyone can spot where I'm going wrong: 1. edit movie in iMovie 4 [the last one I did was 21 minutes] 2. use the 'Share' menu and choose iDVD 3. iDVD opens - I select a template, format the screen, and drop in the appropriate movie 4. I preview it and it seems fine 5. I put in a blank DVD [no special brand but seem to burn okay with data] 6. iDVD gets to Stage 4 but never finishes - left it running for 6 hours on the weekend and came back to discover an error message [can't remember what it was - doh] I did read that you need twice as much disk space available as the movie you're burning. I'm quite close to the exact double - just less - so thought that could be where I'm going wrong? Any suggestions and/or foolproof instructions very welcome. Thanks Mark
