[MacDV] Re-Editing DVD video

DropDV is very interesting. At their site they say that their codec is 
better than QT or FCP for opening MPEG files, but I've tried, but I 
can't even find a way to open DVDs in QT at all, not to mention FCP. Am 
I missing something?
