I've got the MX5000 (something or other 952 in the US I think...) and its picture compares very favorably with the 900. About $1000 in the US now. Far better than putting that much money into a repair. I have never had good luck repairing consumer gear -- spent big $$ fising one problem, only to have another problem crop up well before the repair has paid for itself in hours of use.
