Yes, this works very well. If the speed adjustment is noticible to you then Final Cut
Express could correct the digital playback to whatever pace looks good.

Interestingly, my camera sees less flicker in the first place if you shoot the screen in
a lit room rather than trying to acheive darkness. I decided that has to do with the
contrast range on the LCD chip (no scientific data, just a feeling).
