[MacDV] External Hard Drive Issues & Questions

Not sure this is the same issue, but I tried to use a western digital 
as an internal hardrive with a G4 400 (Still on system 9 with Premiere) 
and had crashes and never could download video onto the internal 
western digital or when it was dumped into an external.  So now I only 
buy IBM/Hitachis which work great (4 X 120GB's) and will download dv 
both internally and externally using an older external firewire case 
and older firewire chip.  Plus they're the only ones that still have a 
3 year warranty at stores like OWC and a few other stores.  One day 
I'll try a Seagate and or a million hour Maxtor.
