On camera mic

Well I received my Panasonic DVC30 Friday.
Now all I need is a good on camera mic.

Is there any consensus (or two) about a good mic, (XLR connection
preferred)?

I have plenty of Shure SM 57'S & 58'S, a few EV RE 20'S  and other assorted
mics in my studio. What I was wondering if there is an on camera mic that
has become a " standard " of any sort, for shooting video.

Any recommendations?
