Erica, Thanks for your input on those enclosures. Sounds like they will do the trick for me. Currently I have a couple other single drive enclosures that work well. The one I really like is labled as Bytecc (yes with 2 c's)(approx. $45-50). It's an all aluminum model with no internal fan, so it is very quiet. I leave it plugged into my iMac all the time. When not in use the HD spins down and is nice an quite. But when I need to access it, it's there. It just sleeps when I sleep the iMac and is ready for work when the iMac wakes up. Now I don't know how it will work in a high use situation where someone is spinning it hard for 8-10hrs a day. I always wondered if the heat would breakdown the HD or if the AL inclosure would diasapate the heat well enough. anyhow it works fine for my 2-3 hr sessions. *And it has a nifty blue LED on the front so you can tell when it's accessing the HD. -Preston
