Any Pioneer DVDr is a Superdrive. That simply means that the Apple OS will recognize it as a factory installed disc capable of booting the system. It doesn't matter if the drive label shows DVR-103 or DVR-A03. They work the same. The drives do get faster in the more recent incarnations.
