Chris, Get a Panasonic DVX-100A instead of the Canon GL-1 -- you'll be so much happier and have a camera that, for a little bit more $$, is a lot more camera!! I have both. The Panasonic is far superior in just picture quality alone. However, when capturing to FCP there is no comparison -- the GL-1 loses sync and drifts whereas the DVX-100A is rock solid.
