These places (including B&H) were founded by members of a religious sect
called Hassidic Jews. They live in tightknit neighborhoods, Brooklyn has
several. They are also dominent in the diamond business.

The reason you get a better price on the internet instead of walking in the
door, is that they have to maintain the stock and the human salesforce for
the Bricks and Mortor location. The online sales come from a central
warehouse and bots do the paperwork. This is true for most stores that are
both internet and B&M.
