[MacDV] Capture dates in Quicktime

I had exported an iMovie(4) to Quicktime, and when I came to import it 
back into iMovie to be part of my "2004 Home Movies" compilation, the 
capture date info had been lost.  Have I missed a setting somewhere, or 
is the date info lost when the movie is exported to Quicktime?  Is 
there any way to keep capture date info accessible on the final 
product, except to have it permanently display on screen during 
playback if the camera is set that way during filming?
