Are you a serious video editor? I found out tonight at Apple Cupertino's Mac FilmMakers meeting that both iMovie HD and FC Express HD transcode the HDV data to and from the hard drive while Final Cut Pro 5 does not leaving the code NATIVE on the hard drive. I think this is a very big deal. Buy Final Cut Pro or the Studio Pack plus a G5 to do things right. But you certainly can do them not exactly right very well on a mini.
