Yeah that. I set the default to a 2 sec. dissolve easily.
I confess I delayed my Panther upgrade because I like the look or X2.8 
better.
But once I did it, of course I did the FCP 4.5 , and iLife '05.
Did all that and associated online upgrades (including the 4.5)
All easy.
Most of my settings were importable in FCP. Some were already there. 
But certain things like the favorites just dissappeared.
So I am doing a project and trying to rebuild my favorite transitions 
and filters.
I set one up, highlight the viewer with the transition set, and choose 
"make favorite effect" from the menu.
What I set does go into the favorites menu and when I check them in the 
bin they are there and load as effects.
However, when I highlight a cut (even with the cursor there) And choose 
one of the favorites, nothing happens.
If I choose a raw effect from the lists that will load into the 
timeline at the highlight.
I looked around for some setting that I might have missed, But I can't 
find on that pertains to this.
