This not so simple.
Sometimes capture is only nominally off value causing same effect.
Changing sequence to 47.99999k not good.
Also depending on what you output to, you really might need to have the
timeline playing 48k.

So...
Go into your user preferences. Change the audio playback Quality to 
medium or low,
and make your tracks 6 or less. It might play now. handy while you work.

At the end though your best bet is to render/mixdown the whole thing.
Or a little at a time. Audio renders don't take much time or space.
