[MacDV] Video formats

Hi all,

I lost the email one of the listers posted recently regarding:
"video formats are 720x480 and 720x576 for NTSC and PAL
respectively."  I'm a flaming newbie who somewhere along the line
got it into my head that the NTSC format was 720xx486.  Is there
something to the 486 vs the 480 figures? Or did I just flat get that
Wrong.  Please advise.
