[MacDV] Scratched DVD - tips?

Well before I had a chance to make a backup of it, our son scratched  
his favorite DVD.  Our fault, not his.  Actually lots of small ones,  
not one big one.

Anyway, I tried to make a copy of it (MacTheRipper) but it reported  
bad blocks.

I tried to clean it off as much as I could, but still no good.

Are there any for-sale products (sprays, equipment, etc) or home- 
remedies that might work?
