[MacDV] Slightly OT: CVD-1000 Hi8 deck prob

Hi guys--

I have a Sony CVD-1000 which I took down off the shelf after not having
used it in about 3 years. 

Powers up fine, but the transport mechanism seems messed up, the wheels
themselves won't turn. I noticed this after I took the top off. Almost
like the wheels are "rusty" or stuck. 

I'd heard that one could "oil" them is that true? Could it just be lack
of use over 3 years? I don't recall this problem happening when I last
used it.
