Plusses/Minuses?

I'm trying to find a way to make the whole:

	Import video to iMovie -> Edit -> Burn to DVD

faster on my 1.5GHz G4 w/ 1GB RAM.

Of course I'd love to just order up a Dual G5, but there's the 
explaining to the wife :-)
