BTW, were you connecting via firewire or USB?

My Bro-in-law has a Sony digital-8 camera and I can capture from it fine 
via Firewire into FCE 1.0. From memory, I had to enable the FW setting in 
the camera's output settings menu.

I solved my problem by composite cables to the Sony Handycam, which 
films in MPEG-2, by hooking into Formac and using Vidi to make the 
record. Worked well! Just took a while to figure out how to do it 
without FCE or iMovie...
