NIck, Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I'm feeling technically challenged when I read the information posted at the Apple web address you sent. On the one hand it seems that using the latest version of OS 10 (even Panther) is what you need. Then there's the reference to bootROM that I frankly don't understand.
