[MacDV] Importing from DVD

Hey Folks,

Newbie question, but I searched the old posts and found nothing to help 
me.

I have finished up 2 large (hard drive eating) iMovie/iDVD projects.  
The projects have been burned and I am about to delete the files.  My 
question:  If I wanted to reuse some of that video in a future project, 
would I be able to get it from the DVD or do I need to save the 
originals?  If I can get the video from the DVD, how do I go about 
doing that?  If I need to save it, what is the best way to do that.

Thoughts?  Comments?
