I am running DVD Studio Pro 3 under OS X.3.9, QuickTime 6.5.2. I would like to upgrade, but we are in the middle of a project, and everyone warns against changes in mid-project. We own Tiger and DVD SP 4, sitting in their boxes. The current project is just under 6 GB. We bought an external FireWire dual layer DVD burner, with a Pioneer DVR-110D mechanism. We thought this would let us burn the project to a dual-layer DVD+R disc. After choosing dual-layer in the appropriate places (we think) in DVD SP 3, we tried to burn the disc. We discovered that only the internal drive (a Pioneer DVR 107D) was accessible/selectable. Toast can see the drive, but DVD SP 3 can't or won't. Next, we tried creating a disc image with DVD SP 3, and were successful in creating a .img file. We tried to burn this to the external DVD burner using Toast. Toast started the job, but aborted when it reported errors. I tried to burn the image using Disk Utility, and it, too, wouldn't recognize the external DVD drive. Can anyone give me any guidance on this problem? thanks, Derek Derek Roff Language Learning Center Ortega Hall 129, MSC03-2100 University of New Mexico Albuquerque, NM 87131-0001 505/277-7368, fax 505/277-3885 Internet: derek at unm.edu
