It sounds like you just want to use the machine; you neither know nor care about what goes on under the hood. So, why do you even care about all this? You bought the machine as-is. If you think there is non-legit software on it just delete it from whereever it is. If you don't try and use a program there isn't any way any other software (kernel extension, library or whatever) that might have been installed at the same time is going to cause you grief. When / if you do buy program XYZ then it'll be a fresh install and all the old stuff (id there is any) will get replaced. If you are REALLY worried about what got put on the machine then just do a clean install of the system from your system disks (and if you didn't get any of those then go buy a set). If the seller advertised one thing and you got another then make a formal fraud complaint to ebay (assuming two months haven't passed since the transactions date).
