[MacDV] DVDs only work on some computers: please help

I know its a long shot, but I'd take a regular (as in commercially  
pressed) movie DVD and make sure the computers at work will play it.

And by "wouldn't work" do you mean the disk was "unrecognized" (a bad  
disk) or that is showed up on the desktop but wouldn't play?
