I too recommend Firewire over USB. Is it (and your Mac) USB2? If only USB1 this is definately a no-no! Someone has got to be able to help me with my La Cie drive and Final Cut Express 2.0 problem. The drive is USB, I followed the directions to use Mac OS X disk utilities to initialize the drive and my eMac recognizes it. I'm attempting to use it as the drive where all my digital video is captured but when I changed the system preferences in FCE from the eMac's drive to the La Cie and try to capture the box that I would normally see the video being captured in (the one with no sound) indicates that it is "allocating space". I'm at my wits end, which is not far mind you. Please, for the love of god, someone help me out here. What am I doing wrong? kind regards, PTM ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ "People have to be made to understand that they cannot look for salvation anywhere but to themselves."
