The very phrase '72 dpi' is meaningless. The *only* thing that matters is the pixel count (width x height). Wipe the word 'resolution' right out of your brain and you'll be far better off :-) The NTSC image is 640 x 480 pixels and that doesn't change whether you are on a 13" TV or a 40" TV or a 17" computer screen.
