[MacDV] Converting a MPEG to a DVD

Have you tried opening Toast, clicking the Video tab and dragging  
the .mpg file into the window?

If that doesn't work, you should be able to use MPEG StreamClip to  
convert your MPEG files to DV files so that you can edit them in  
iMovie. (Note: MPEG StreamClip is free, however you will need to  
purchase Apple's QuickTime MPEG2 Component for $20).
