[MacDV] iMovie and DVcam screen shots

I am hoping to recommend a friend use a pull-out from her laptop to a  
wide shot of her narrating her documentary. She is using FCP so the  
results may differ from iMovie. Just wondering if Apple has rigged  
the system somehow so shooting off the screen is not possible on  
prosumer cameras.
