[MacDV] iMovie Plug-in errors

I've just purchased an iMac and transferred everything from my G5.
Mac OS 10.4.10
I've also used Software Update to update everything from Apple

On opening iMovie 6.0.3 on the iMac, I get a succession of error  
messages:
"Something is wrong with the plug-in Minify etc., etc., "
iMovie has also crashed a couple of times.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is?
(Yes I will get iLife'08 soon)
