Cheaper alternatives are: 1. MactheRipper. That creates two files: VideoTS and (possibly) AudioTS. You only need the VideoTS. 2. Use a number of programs, DVD2One, Handbrake or VisualHub, to get your quicktime movies. I use all of the above - including Cinematize to create NASA videos for presentations to kids.
