I believe this has to do with ColorSync and your monitor calibration. 

However I do not have an answer only to say it is probably washed out just on that monitor and looks fine elsewhere.

I have a two monitor setup, and when I view exported footage on the main monitor, it is pale, but when I move it to the other, I get the proper color. 

Also, give it a look using something like VLC, see if the proper color is there.
