The last time I looked at Apple's website, the list of cameras compatible with Final Cut Pro X was very short. Maybe five memory-card camcorders. Yet many people report using FCP X successfully with newer cameras. I've asked around about this contradiction, and the best answer that I can make out is that most people are pulling the memory cards out of the camcorders, and reading them into their computers with a card reader, either built in or external. That seems like a good approach to me. Perhaps it will work for your friend, although it might not, if Sony requires Windows-only software to read the cards for his camcorder. Good luck, Derek > I have a friend who can't import movies from his new Sony NEX-VG10 HD camcorder into his Mac Pro which has Lion 10.7.1 and Final Cut Pro X installed. He has also tried Image Capture (Version 6.1) (440), but to no avail. His software is up to date. > > I have the same computer/software setup as him and I have had no trouble importing data from my older Sony HDR-HC3 tape-based camera. > > Any suggestions as to how he can fix his problem please?
