Digitizing cassette tapes through Edirol audio capture device

Hello MPA'ers!

I've run into a bit of a problem setting up an iMac for recording audio off
a cassette deck.

The iMac is running OS X 10.2.3
Audio capture device is an Edirol UA-1A

I've got RCA cables running from the cassette deck's aux jacks to the
Edirol's input jacks.

Using Sound Studio 2.0.7 for audio capture. Software sees the Edirol, but
when I hit the play button on the cassette deck, I'm not seeing any sound
waves.

Any help would be most appreciated!
