I disagree, PT is great for multi-track work but for two track editing? For what I do (game sound design and composing) nothing beats the ancient and venerable Sound Edit 16. Which unbelievably runs in classic mode. And no other program I've seen out there has a Bender tool like SE16 which I use all the time for sound effects. It is the only app that I NEED to go into OS 9 for anymore. And yes, I have PT free and Peak VST. I have tried the following apps in OSX: Amadeus II Sound Studio Spark ME Acoustic Core Cacophony Jasmine Sound Sculptor II DSP Quattro I like Quattro the best, but I don't like Quattro $129 better than the free Spark ME which is my main OSX Editor. Sound Studio from Felt Tip software is also pretty good. If there were no Sound Edit 16, I would buy Quattro. Your mileage may vary, Humbly submitted. -- Jay Shaffer Composer/ Sound Designer jshaf at jayshaffer.com http://jayshaffer.com/ http://macaudioguy.com/ On Monday, July 21, 2003, at 02:40 PM, Bruce Maclean wrote: > 2 Words: ProTools > > (Or is that 1 word?) > On Monday, July 21, 2003, at 01:24 PM, Rick Latham wrote: > >> I have found Peak and Spark are both excellent programs. >> All the best with you tests, >> >> Rick >> >> >> >>> From: <cmh at chariot.net.au> >>> Reply-To: "Mac Pro Audio List" >>> <MacProAudio at lists.themacintoshguy.com> >>> Date: Mon, 21 Jul 2003 22:54:46 +0930 >>> To: "Mac Pro Audio List" <MacProAudio at lists.themacintoshguy.com> >>> Subject: [MPA] audio editor thoughts?
