USB software upgrades for beige G3/233

I have recently installed a USB card into my PCI slot in my old Beige G3/233. 
 I have done some other upgrades including RAM and OS 9.2.2.  The system 
profiler recognizes that there is a USB card in the PCI slot, however I can't 
get any USB devices to talk to the card...these devices include an Iomega 
ZIP100, and a Lexmark Z12 printer.  My question is:  Are there some software 
upgrades or drivers or something that can make these devices get along?
