I believe this will work, I think you need a patch which IBM released to properly support USB microphones. Check on IBM.com (I had to find this a short time ago and it was still there but was not easy to find). VV 3.0 is much better but is for OS X, if you run OS 9 it will not work. Likewise if you run OS X the earlier versions will not work.
