iListen requirements

I have just installed the 6.1 upgrade.  It won't work.  When I 
dictate into MS Word, I get gobbledegook, with the odd word I have 
said interspersed.

I am doing so on a Platinum G4 laptop.  It has 512 Mb of RAM.  Is 
lack of RAM the problem?  Or should I delete everything and install 
the programme again from scratch?  I am becoming sick of reading 
those stories!!

Is there a UK English version of iListen?
