From an old message on the MacSpeech support list: The iPod cannot be used with ilisten. An iPod records with a sampling frequency of 8 KHz (no matter what microphone is attached). This does not generate an audio signal of sufficient quality for ilisten to use. iListen is the only Mac software that supports transcription from a recorder. Joe Senecal
