FWIW, reportedly:
According to a speaker from NASA recently, in their
speech recognition program they have good results with
the Andrea ANC-700 noise cancelling microphone headset.
Using it for communication with robotic vehicle and
with space module supervisory computers.  (HAL, HAL...?)
They apparently are not using Mac, but Window$ or
Cygwin *nix on Window$ in their speech recognition R&D.
