[MV] Revised question about scribe vs dictate

I don't really understand why I would not just get scribe, record all my text as a voice memo, and then let the software transcribe it. Don't i get the advantage of a permanent audio record of the text? Or does dictate keep an audio record for correcting and verification? Because it seems to me scribe would be better for editing later with an audio recording being available. Again, as I am new to this process, please feel free to school me on what I am missing here.
