John, I wouldn't be overly concerned about the Fujitsu MHS2060AT. I too was a bit skeptical when I received my GigaBook about a month ago, but the drive has served well under hard work conditions since and I've warmed up to it in a big way. Not only is it the quietest hard drive I've used in any of my too many PowerBooks to date, but the extremely high areal density that allows 30GB (27.78 formatted?) per platter helps this 9.5mm height 4200rpm drive outperform my 5400rpm 60GB IBM Travelstar by a good margin. Sure, an 8MB buffer would be nice. Still, I think you'll find that the MHS2060AT will surprise you and make your wait for a good alternative with a 8MB buffer a comfortable one. alan
