And, the other way around, I have a PowerKey applescriptable power 
strip that was having intermittant problems with loading it's 
extension, and by using a straight S-Video, to replace the curly-cue 
one from Apple, and all is well.  I know that a good quality S-Video 
cable can be used for long ADB runs too.
