What are people's thoughts on partioning disks for speed? Is it true that the first partition on a disk is at the outside edge, and that data in it will be read faster - or is this a myth? (Actually, wouldn't same-partitions need to be spread in the same position over multiple platters?) Could you expect to see OS X boot a couple of seconds faster with data on the outside rather than the inside edge of the disk? :) I've heard that defragmentation in Unix-based OSes isn't really an issue because of its intelligent file handling - is this true of OS X? It's all questions with me, isn't it? Thanks, Andy
