Screen flicker and blue lines Oh my!!

  My Ti550 is acting strangely lately.The screen
  is flickering like an old silent movie and blue
  vertical lines show up over photoshop artwork and
  in the games I've played.It seems to be getting worse.
  I checked the Apple site but their solutions don't
  apply to this.Is this a job for Applecare or is it
  something I'm doing wrong?   Thanks for any advice.
