Well, with MacOS 9, after I did my normal clean installations of a new machine, with fonts from the System, AppleWorks, Office and Photoshop, I always had an inability to start with extensions on. The solution? Remove one font, any font. With trial I found that I could add fonts or take them away to fix the problem, but the set I wound up with after installation was just the 'wrong number'. So this fix (switching languages) seemed 'similar' (even if not so) and did not surprise me much at all. -- Regards, Steve (is tv wake zone?)
