OK - quick summary:

First you need to determine whether the interference is coming 
through the power lines or is being radiated. Does it get worse when 
the mic is nearer to the PB or power supply ? If so, it's probably 
radiated, if not them it's probably coming through the power lines. 
If it's coming through the power lines then you can try an isolating 
transformer and/or mains filter. It it's radiated then you've got a 
problem.
