I missed that it only happens when connect to AC.  Try
wrapping the AC cord around a ferrite choke.  Radio
Shack sells one:

Radio Shack sells only one mix.  You might need a
different mix.  Try calling Amadon or FairRite and
talking to an applications engineer.  Often, they will
send a free sample.
